Marking the 90-day anniversary of the devastating L.A. fires, City Councilwoman Traci Park, whose district includes Pacific Palisades, toured the recovery efforts in Altadena.
Councilwoman Park said she's been impressed with all the progress but acknowledges that there are still many questions about emergency response times and water issues during the fires.

"I am going to continue to insist that these investigations are timely, thorough and that they are fully transparent," Park said, "because we all deserve answers."
During her tour, Park engaged with the L.A. County Parks Department to assess the fire's impact on the regional watershed and spoke with the Sheriff's Department regarding ingress, egress, traffic, construction management, and security.
Park also collaborated with representatives from County Supervisor Kathryn Barger's office to develop a long-term community recovery plan. Barger was scheduled to participate but canceled due to an undisclosed emergency.
Park emphasized her commitment to responsible recovery, stating, "I remain more determined today than I have ever been before to ensure that we are making strategic decisions and managing this recovery in a responsible way...These areas will become two of the largest construction zones that we have ever seen in Los Angeles County, and we must ensure they can thrive."
She highlighted her efforts to learn from other fire-ravaged communities, including Paradise, and announced plans to visit Lahaina to further inform L.A.'s recovery strategy.
Looking ahead, Park said that the Army Corps' projected timeline for completion is late summer and fall. The city and county of Los Angeles are exploring innovative financing tools to invest in infrastructure to prevent future devastating fires.
